4 and 4. 4 Players selected for Loughborough Centre of Excellence and 4 wins on the bounce.

A win at Harpenden rounded off a great week for Towcestrians Ladies with 4 players, Polly Peterson, Anna Woodman, Isabelle Knapp and Annabelle Luntz selected to be part of Loughbourgh Lightening's Center of Excellence, more than any other club that feeds into them. The Girls Academy team travelled to Harpenden slightly low on numbers with 3 players having to pull out this morning.
17 players, 12 of them forwards meant lots of players sharing roles in the backs. You would of expected a forward dominated game yet some of the backs tries were things of beauty, hard running, great lines and good hands.
From the first scrum Tows front 5 did what they have been doing weekly and took the opponents backwards. The second row powerhouse of Aria Lowden and Keira Fitzgerald driving the front row on.
The work on for this game was defensive line and line speed. Harpenden were put under pressure every time they had the ball. Massive hits putting them on the back foot, the center pairing of Jas Murray and Libby Smith repeatedly putting in big tackles. Some of the opposition will definitely be having nightmares about those two.
For a while the score was being racked up a point a min, 30 in and 30 points to the good. Tows back row prolific as ever tackling, jackaling and scoring. 7 tries between Anna The Chopper Woodman and Daisy The Animal Boyce.
Keeley The Boot Staniford in her first season at U18s is growing with every game, leading the line at 10. Making good decisions, scoring a try and converting 3. One of our newest players Olivia Made of Steel Devine never missing a tackle on the wing looks set for a great future at the club.
36 up at half time some changes were made, Xhante a prop growing with confidence, moved out of her comfort zone and moved to full back a posotion she grew into. Back rows to center, and Anwen Electric Rolfe from Full Back to Fly half scoring another. Anwen has become a natural leader in the backline.
Out of position, but it did not stop the tries coming. Todays flying winger Victoria(usually wing forward) scored a peach of a team try, the ball passing through countless pairs of hands as we looked like the Harlem Globe Trotters.
Every one of our set pieces was won, Hookers Maisie MM Morrison and Darcy Cockerill accurate in line and scrum and working hard around the park.
Ellie the sniper Harrison at 9, having her best game of the season to date. exploited the holes in Harpendens defensive line, how she did not score is a mystery., she certainly made enough ground. As did team Captains Caitlin The Assassin Donohue and Polly The Beast Peterson. Both lead by example, their work rate is outstanding. 5 played 4 wins 227 points for and 49 against, not a bad start to the season. The team work and comradery of these girls is exceptional.
Next week sees the team travel to Bristol on tour. Look out Bristol. Here come the Girls
