A large a large crowd had descended on Greens Norton Road to see this eagerly anticipated match.
A sloppy start from the hosts saw them concede a barrage of penalties and turn overs, leading to the first points going to Bugbrooke from a well-executed penalty kick.
Tows suddenly sprung to life later in the half following a yellow card to a member of the Bugbrooke pack. Tows took advantage of the extra man with a strong lineout drive, the weakened visiting forwards failing to handle the surge as Tows crashed over the line. The score was converted by James Falvey.
Tows’ ill-discipline continued to trouble them as the travelling side added another penalty which was then cancelled out by a Falvey penalty just before half time.
In the second half Tows piled on the pressure leading to tries from Craig Holton, Eugene Baxter and David Devlin Jones settling what became a comfortable win. Bugbrooke’s only answer being a further penalty kick. The win sees Tows into the semi-final of the East Midlands Cup.
Next week sees a return to the league with a crunch match against third place Windsor at Greens Norton Road.
