Looking to retain the Lewis Shield another group of lads travelled to BBOB's
Another group of players travelled to BBOB's for the first round of the Lewis Shield. One of the beauties of this competition is that you have a group of player brought together that normally would not play together. A run through the previous night had gone well and the aim of the game would be to keep things simple and retain the ball without give the opposition the chance to get into the game. Both sides start very tentatively. Towcester gave away a few silly penalties giving BBOB the opportunity to get points on the board . These were the only real point scoring opportunity of the game for them as they never really looked to trouble the visitors defensive line. The tries only started to come later into the first half and then into the second half. The home side couldn't really defend against the relentless pace that came against them and it was normally a dropped pass or a knock on that stifled Tows attack. The better rugby side won in the end but the home side made a good fist of putting up some opposition.
