Towcester continued their League campaign hosting the hard bitten Forest side.
The frist 25 minutes was a defensive stalemate until Yuill put Towcester in front. Forest’s reputed fly half Roux replied with a try under the posts following the visitors frist visit into their opponents 22. The conversion put Forest in front 7-3 for the first and only time in the game.
Towcester winger Goodman prised open the Forest defence with a searing run form deep and and ran in a try from half way which Yuill converted. With the game in the balance, Forest came back strongly and were awarded two penalties in fornt of the Towcester posts. They elected to scrum for the first one but were driven back. The second was reversed and a player sin binned
and Towcester turned round with their advantage in tact.
With Towcester now winning the territorial battle, a break from the base from Wheldon saw centre George cross under the posts. Yuill converted but a Forest penalty clawed back three points to make the score 17-10. Towcester now took control. Yuill added another three from the boot and Wheldon pinched a ball from the opposition scrum to dart over and score.
Towcester saved the best until last. Payne filed a kick in defence and sparked a move which saw the ball glide through six pairs of hands as Towcester rattled downfield. George finished off the move to bag his second try of the day.
