Towcestrians hosted the already relegated Trowbridge knowing that nothing less than a bonus point victory would be good enough in their quest for the League title and promotion
The Tows soon setting down a marker for the Wiltshire side, winger Matt Yuill crossing early on for the opening score, Trowbridge responded with what was to be their only score of the game, a penalty, three quick tries from the Tows forwards with driving mauls soon secured an early bonus point, Tows now looking dangerous in every attack, white line fever prevented further scores until the ball was finally released for Alex Chalcraft to show some magic and score, Tows outstanding forward, Sam Sturley, crossed for his second of the match to give the Tows a 36 - 3 Half time lead
Tries followed soon after the restart from Chalcraft again, Ben Roe, Scott Browne and Yuon Skelton, James Falvey kicking his fifth conversion, but the rugby soon became secondary with Trowbridge's Gareth Davies suffering a horrific leg injury when trapped in a ruck, a long delay followed for Air ambulance assistance, with a number of the Trowbridge players clearly in shock and fully concerned for the welfare of their team mate and reluctant to continue the game was abandoned by referee George Richardson
The second XV looked to have a difficult game away at National League 2 North side South Leicester, but the Tows 2nd XV continued to dominate and this game was blown up early with Tows 83 - 0 up, Towcestrians Colts beat Daventry 57 - 12
With no points allocation from this game, Salisbury closed the lead in the League to a single point with the Tows now showing a game in hand, tough fixtures come thick and fast and this Tuesday evening under the lights of Northampton School for Boys the Tows take on Old Northamptonians in the semi-final of the Alliance Cup before returning to League action on Saturday, away to High Wycombe
