Towcestrians slipped to their second away defeat of the season coming up short against Oundle RFC, Tows made a bright start, winger Sam Aitchison fielding Tows kick off to make ground, his scrum-half brother Murray Aitchison supporting to quickly chip ahead and collect for an opening try for Tows, Ben Roe adding the extras. The first of several misfiring Tows lineouts lead to a converted try from the hosts, Roe replying with a penalty to keep Tows just ahead, but it was Oundle who then took the lead with a second converted try. Two penalties, one from long range, from Roe was all Tows could muster in response to a third try from the home side, who led 21 - 16 at half-time.
Oundle's pack took control in the second half, first with a pushover for the bonus point, sandwiching Sam Aitchison's try, after a dropped ball was quickly pounced on by the Tows wing to go over, with two more tries for their powerful number 8, Shingles, who finished with four tries for the game.
