Towcestrians produced a workmanlike display in seeing off already relegated Buzzard this Saturday, Tows got off to the worst possible start, Vice Captain Craig Holton left the field after Tows gathered the kick off, Holton making impressive ground being taking contact and having to leave the field with a bad shoulder injury, Tows quickly re-shuffled, moving Callum Jones to no.8, and responded well with a Dave Devlin-Jones try, James Falvey converting to take the lead, Buzzard hit back, their heavier pack battered the Tows line to eventually gain a converted try
Gradually taking control Tows took the game to the visitors in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd of past players and sponsors, Ally Haynes and the impressive 18 year old Lewis Evans crossing, Falvey adding both conversions, great defence from Tows saw them lead at half time 21 - 7
Buzzard got back into the game with a converted try from open side Andrew Harris-Smith, who couldn't believe his luck when presented with a soft run in from a line out, the converted try gave Buzzard hope but affected with injuries it was to be their last score, Tows took control and ran in further tries from Adam Wilkinson and George Raven and with Tows scrum half, Ben Barwell, pulling the strings Tows got completely on top, makeshift no.8 Jones having and excellent game throughout, Tows finished the game with a fine try after a Matt Yuill break found Barwell on his shoulder for the sixth try of Tows afternoon, Falvey converting five.
Tows have one more League game this Saturday away at Lutterworth 3pm Kick Off before facing Northampton Old Scouts in the Alliance Cup Final on the 24th April
