A dominant start from the Oundle pack saw them score two tries from the scrum in the first 10 minutes. A further try from the Oundle centre off the back of another scrum set the tone for long afternoon for Tows’ pack.
Tows finally replied with a try after swift hands from the backs, Pepe Nanci getting on the end of a great move.
Oundle sealed the bonus point with a try from fly half Craig Tandy before Tows came back fighting with a half break from returning Ben Roe and Ali Haynes crossing the line, Matt Yuill converting. The score was 12 – 24 at the turn around.
After the break a yellow card for Tows forward Haynes put the already lighter Tows pack under even more immense pressure. Oundle took full advantage by running in two more tries, Tandy completing his hat trick in the process.
Apart from the score line, this was a much more positive display from Tows who are still struggling with injured or unavailable players. Towcester travel to Peterborough next we looking to spark some winning performances.
