Tows were forced to play a less experienced young front row as Captain Liam Wilkinson failed a late fitness test. The more experienced Paviors dominated early possession as they took the lead with two unanswered converted tries.
Controlling play through influential fly half Craig Moore the home side looked to run the ball at every opportunity. The third score looked inevitable for the home side as they continued to build the pressure. Finally the score came in the 32nd minute.
Tows then had their first chance to attack the rampant hosts line. Although Tows line out worked well their only real attacks came from broken play. Charlie Barker linking up with Chrissie George to release Fen Gallagher who had an outstanding game, to then score. James Falvey converted.
After the break Tows picked up a yellow card. The opportunity of the extra man was pounced upon by Paviors, who scored two quick tries, both of which were converted from wide out by Moore.
Tows now had six of last year’s Colts side on the field with First Team debuts for Gus Hopewell and Patch Griffiths. However Tows inexperience showed as they conceded a sixth try. With the game beckoning loose play went from end to end. Tows kept going through the barrage of pressure, two tries were denied by last ditch tackles from Craig Holton and Ben Nichols as the game ended. Paviors full back Geo Billam played his last game for his team before leaving for Australia.
Next week Tows Host Newark. KO 15:00.
