On Saturday Towcestrians looked for revenge against an ON’s team who had beaten them comprehensively at Billing Road. Would Tows get what they were looking for or would it be another successful day at the office for the visitors?

Tows started out as the more committed side in the early exchanges, a penalty kicked successfully by James Falvey rewarding them for their efforts.
Tows then gained a further lead from a break by winger Dave Stocks who then expertly chipped the defending fullback to win the race to the ball over the line. By this stage in the game the home team were dominating, this was emphasized when fielding a kick ahead, this was met by Falvey who then put another kick into space for Charlie Barker to gather and run in behind the posts. Falvey’s conversion giving Tows a fifteen point lead.
Tows came agonizingly close to extending their lead, only to somehow butcher a three on one chance. It was deep into the half before ON’s showed any character and threatened the Tows line, Scrum Half Tom Goodman getting them on the score board with a penalty.
After the break poor kicking from Tows allowed ON’s back into the game, however they were found looking at each other when a penalty was awarded and taken quickly by Gus Hopewell to snipe through untouched. Falvey’s conversion putting Tows in control at 22-3.
Finally ON’s forwards woke up, their pressure leading to a chip from Goodman which was grasped by ON’s winger Bodily to score.
The introduction of veteran prop Joe Hawksworth gave ON’s some initiative , a penalty try bringing the scores closer at 22-15.
Tows young pack refused to bow down and buckle under the pressure, their hard work finally allowing Tows winger Yuill to break down the blind side and score. This added the bonus point for Tows.
A penalty from Falvey eased the pressure as he extended his teams lead. ON’s were now chasing the game as they attempted to run from deep, however found themselves playing in their own twenty-two for the remaining ten minutes of the game. This allowed Barker to run in for Tows fifth try, Falvey’s conversion cementing the win in a rousing game against their old rivals ON’s.
