This largely anticipated game was watched by a substantial crowd. The Harlequins fielded a quintet of South sea islanders to bolster there team.
Tows were obviously fired up for this game as they took the lead midway through the first half. Continuous pressure from the home team resulted in a penalty which Falvey took expertly.
After around half an hour of pressure from Tows, Harlequins scored a soft try. A poor kick bouncing in the favour of Zac Norris who ran in. The try was converted. This appeared to settle Quins as they then showed the attacking prowess, Keni Fisilau finishing for the second converted try. Quins had a twelve point lead going into the break.
Tows started the second half brightly, again pressuring Quins and this time resulting in mistakes which lead to a try. A driving maul setting up George Symonds to score wide out. Falvey again slotting the conversion.
Falvey then found himself with a penalty which again he took via the post, this put the game in the balance at 13-14.
Tows forwards were now ready to take the game to the Quins. A five metre scrum resulting in two penalties for Towcester, only for Quins to disrupt the ball on the third scrum attempt.
Quins then showed their class as they entered the Tows half for the first time that half. Clinical finishing gifted Dean Seals with the winning try which was converted by Moses Latch. He then converted a penalty which ended the game.
A disappointing end for a Tows side who had given everything in this hard fought encounter.
