With much of the early possession Tows showed intent by opting for a scrum from a penalty rather than taking the certain points. They were punished for this early bravado, Marlow breaking away winger Matt Saunders scoring under the posts. Noble notched up the easy conversion.
It didn’t take long for the visitors to come back, Banks turning over the ball for Craig Holton to burst through and outpace the covering tacklers. Falvey added the extras.
Tows then struck again, a quickly taken penalty from Charlie Barker was finished by acting scrumhalf Mark Yeates, forced into action through Chrissie George leaving the field injured. Yeates playing for the first time in this position showed his true footballing ability looking completely at home.
A consistently messy kick off led to a try for Marlow, centre Scott Golding intercepting for the second home try. Noble’s conversion put them in front and giving them the lift they were looking for.
The lead did not last long, Mark Yeates again going over, converted by Falvey, followed by another try from Craig Holton, this time from a line out drive. Tows led 14-25 at the break.
Shortly after the break David Devlin Jones waltzed through what looked like the entire home defence from a twenty two drop out to score truly scintillating try that all but blocked any chance of the home team coming back.
From a magnificent solo effort to great team work as Tows took a scrum against the head, they then swiftly moved the ball through the hands for young winger Thorne Gladwin to dot down.
A late come back from Marlow came from elusive winger Saunders as he strolled over, however a flurry of tries from Liam Wilkinson and Yeates, back in the centre and completing his hat trick, banished any hope for the home team.
