The trip to Peterboroughs other club and its Tows that seal the win
A great win on the road moves Towcester away from the lower end of the table. With a few forced changes Tows travelled away to Peterborough Lions for what could be a 5 point win. A bight but windy afternoon lead to some great running rugby which only for a few errors could have been an even bigger win. Game plan was simple move the bigger opposition around the field and wait for the gaps to appear. Tows struck quickly Ben Barwell hacking through to chase for the first score of the day. Kicking prove difficult all day and the conversion was missed but a few minutes later Pepe Nanci redeemed himself with a penalty kick. Towcester struck twice more early in the half before a red card was shown to the Peterborough winger for a high hit on Paddy Falvey. No damage done to Paddy but we all really need to start dropping our height on tackles. Tows struck again as Xavier crossed just before the half time break. After the break and a few substitutions Tows scored again. Playing into the wind Pepe managed to slot the conversion Lions did manage to rally after a few infringement gave them field position to use their size and a continuous pick and drive over the line. Xavier was back on the score board for his second with Cameron Young slotting the conversion. The final score was quite spectacular. A line out for Lions just inside their 22. Line out thrown in and Ed Bishop Bailey takes the ball one hand dropping down uncontested with a sprint over the line. Great way to end the game and a good with on the day. Congratulations to Debutantes Michael King up from the development squad and Dino Gallone from the Academy
