On Saturday Tows travelled to Reading hoping for more of a challenge than in their last home game against Newbury Blues.

The travellers got off to a great start using their strength in the forwards to put pressure on the home team, resulting in Zac Osborne crashing over. The kick was expertly taken by James Falvey from touch.

Tows then put on the after burners, their pace and support runners causing problems all over the pitch, full back Falvey joining the line then cutting back inside to score, he then missed the easier conversion.

The next try came minutes after, Adam Wilkinson scoring on the blind side after another strong scrum.

The bonus point try came from Matt Bodily who bustled over after the dominance in the scrum continued and Tows took one against the head.

A bit of complacency began to creep into the Tows game as they were caught napping, with a penalty indicated Ben Roe took a long range drop goal, with Tows waiting to come back for the penalty, Reading took a quick drop out and scampered in for their first points.

Stung into action the Brothers Liam and Adam Wilkinson combined for Adam to get his second of the game just for half time.

The second half started in the same vein, strong forward work concluding in a try for Pepe Nanci. Then from a line out charismatic captain Liam Wilkinson scored.

A shuffle in the pack didn’t seem to change Tows’ mentality, scrum half Chrissie George dotted down after a push over the line.

Readings forwards finally got together and scored off of a line out, and moments later a lazy kick away was charged down to gift Reading a third try.

Discipline then seemed to go out the window as Liam Wilkinson was yellow carded, the extra man gave Reading to opportunity to seal a bonus point try.

The last play of the game gave the Reading fans something to cheer as centre Alex Dorlaic bundled over the line.
