Wet and Cold But Another Win
This round of the Lewis Shield ended up being very wet and extremely cold, but both sides did their best to entertain the crowd.
On a very wet and cold night under flood lights Towcester took their time to show the opposition that on a dry day the score line would have been very different.
It was the visitors that took the early lead as a few missed tackles were punished with a well worked try.
The conversion was added for the 7 point lead.
Both sides couldn't get a further foothold in the game until on the 25 minute mark the visitors fell foul of the referee and 10 minutes into the bin.
Towcester capitalised and Andrew Smith
touched down after a very good rolling maul found the visitors defence weakened.
The half finished with Tows infringing and the visitors converting the penalty.
Stern words from the DOR and the second half started very much like the first. Both sides attacked both sides made mistakes.
On the fifty minute mark Tows received a penalty in front of the posts and Ewan Fuller
added the points.
From here on it was all Towcester and they were still the oppositions best defence. Too many mistakes ended promising moves but Cameron Young
eventual got over the try line for the first of a brace .
captain for the evening scored next and Cam the final try.
This young side showed lots of potential but their game management will need to improve for the next round .
