Tows Do The Double On Broadstreet

This was an exciting but nervous game for the 2s at home with the 1s who also played against Broadstreet but with the better start the the new league . This was another week the 2s had 7 changes to the squad with players in from injury and out into the 1s but looking on paper we still had a fantastic squad out on the field , The game started with Broadstreet using there large forwards to run with the ball play after play trying to find a gap in the Tows Armour on the 5 mtr line then only to find themselves being pushed back into their own half this time the Tows tested there defense but for 10 minutes the game was back and forwards , Broadstreet again tried a few different ideas but then decided that if they couldn't break the defense down they would try a break us physically with off the ball late hits and the odd slap until they decided to pick on fly half Ronnie Speakman which ended up in a number of players being involved . This was the breaking point Tows scored on the 14th min with Jonty Barrie and James Falvey adding the points. Tows kept the pressure on and hit again 10min later with winger James Hale going on one of his no idea where i'm going runs and again Falvey doing the business. This totally put Broadstreet on the back foot and rapidly started going through there subs with injury's which also effected the Tows with loosing scrum half Dave Stocks with a knee injury , With Broadstreet giving away countless penalties James Falvey gained 3 more points . After the break with fresh legs being brought on the Tows hit Broadstreet straight away with aggressive attack from the forwards to open up the play allowing Kris Ancil to get his 1st try of the game but with a rare miss from Falvey 22-0. 6 minutes later kris Ancil hit the tiring opposition to get his 2nd try and another miss from normally spot on Falvey . More players on from the bench Ben Barwell - Michael Fagan and Adam Wilkinson add misery and countless speed to an extremely tired away team, Injury's had it Broadstreet hard and had gone down to 12 players even the ref had asked if they wanted to stop but they wouldn't and they wanted to play the full 80 minutes which just shows how much pride they had and being professional with it but Tows switched off totally and let Broadstreet's winger run in from his own 22 untouched to gt them point on the board . Young scrum half Ben Barwell got his 1st try for his new club on the 63rd min and James Falvey slotted the ball through the sticks but it didn't stop another young player brought in to help was winger Michael Fagan who ran in from his own half to get his 1st try and a change of kickers let Ben Young go for goal but the angle and distance just to much with the ball falling short . When you don't want injuries they happen Hooker Richard Tustain and winger James Hale both had to come off but one more try this was from James Falvey and the conversion was missed by Sam Sturley . This was a good game to watch and lots of players who haven't been mentioned worked their socks off but MOM went to the hard hitting centre Ben Young
Final score 44-7
