The two teams finally met after weeks of postponed games and it was a hell of a game . Unfortunately Luctonians arrived with no from row so this meant uncontested scrums and a pack of backrow plus they only had 14 players but they still committed to the game and Tows are still struggling with injuries kept out some key players , As the game started it was quick and the tackling was furious from both sides but it was Luctonians that added the pressure and got Tows camped inside there own 22 the defending was excellent. Although Tows had the extra man they worked well as a team which made it feel they had a full squad and at some points it felt they had 16 players on the pitch but the pressure from Tows attack split the backs and allowed Callum Garwood to get Tows of the mark
Missed conversion 5-0 which it stayed for the rest of the half
At half time the Tows knew what had to be done to ease the pressure from Lucs and as the 2nd half started capt Pepe Nanci made a break to get his 1st try with no conversation points 10-0
With loosing two players to injuries Ben Lawrence Callum Garwood the team shuffled around and fresh legs brought on but it was poor discipline at the breakdown which kept us in our own half and under enormous pressure from a Lucs side that had their heads up and after phases of picking and driving broke through 10-5 .
Again Tows mounted a challenge and kept the phases going and again capt Pepe Nanci got the final try of the game 15-5 .
This was a really good match against Luctonians 14 men and a good test for Tows defence
The return match is going to be exciting and very testing
There is no man of the match this week as all played extremely well even in mixed position or out of position .
