Sometimes a week off doesn't help with fitness or game management

With a lack of players for various reasons we have to thank the 3rd team for support the bulk of the squad.
Injuries and unavailability meant that 32 players were unavailable this week for the 2nd's and the 3rd's so the 3rd team game had to be cancelled so the league fixture could be fulfilled.
The game started at a fair pace considering the conditions were fairly slippy under foot.
Burton play a simple game plan run hard and straight look for the off load and keep the momentum going.
For over twenty minutes Tows had to defend for most of the first quarter very little ball but defending for all they were worth.
It took a flash of opportunism for the winger to chip and chase for the first score, something he did when he played at Towcester.
A few minutes later Burton scored again as Tows just simply ran out of defenders.
With players playing out of position we didn't really need to start loosing players to injury but on the 35 mins the substitutions had to be made.
Reshuffling the back line helped Tows stop the attacking treat of the mid field with some outstanding tackling from Lewis Bodily and Giles Sowden.
The second half started very similar to the first but it was Tows that took the initial imitative pummelling the Homes sides line, unfortunately for Tows the final pass never seemed to stick and dropped ball gave the home side an advantage to clear their lines.
The third try for the home side came from a few silly penalties award to them by the ref who took a dislike to some of Towcesters questions regarding his decisions.
Tows did eventually cross the try line when Phil Culwick got onto the end numerous phase play eventually stuck scoring out wide.
The Home side had the final score as their big centre manage to evade numerous tackles touching down between the posts.
Tough game away due to the lack of numbers but a big thank you to the 3rd team for filling the void.
