Loose passing on the fringes gave kettering the early space to pick up a converted try in the opening minutes of the game which left tows playing catch up throughout on a day when the set piece was not working for them which led to pressure and a second before Tows battled back maintaining prolonged siege on the Kettering line, Giles Tudor Price scoring through a darting run off the back of a ruck.
The second half saw Tows keep the pressure and a number of truly melodic passages of running and passing going through most hands in the team. This culminated in a try off a deft inside pass from Hugo Austin to George Gardiner running an incisive line to bulldoz over for a try. The game was in the visitors sights until nearing the end the skillfull Kettering Full Back scored an individualistic try spotting space behind the tows backs placing a well aimed kick to run through and score. Tows came back manfully looking much like scoring on a number of occasion but again loose final passing allowed Kettering backs another breakaway try in the last play. Game could have gone either way score slightly flattering the home side.
