ADM Lancashire Premier League Rugby returns to Trafford MV's MacPherson Park on Sat Jan 5th as Heaton Moor visit to open the New Year.
Trafford MV wishes all its fans a season full of good rugby and improved results as they enter the business end of the season.
After a great start to the season MV faltered somewhat in the weeks pre-Christmas which see's 7th placed MV facing a 6th placed Heaton Moor in what should be a close and exciting game. MV edged the away fixture bringing home a 33-38 win back at the end of September.
Both sides have had missed recent from with Moor winning only one from the last five games and MV fairing marginally better with a win and a draw from five.
MV welcome back stand off Stuart Crampton from a niggling injury period to resume the influential half back pairing with Pat Eccles at scrum half. University players Kai Fagan, Gregg Warren and Tom Queeley return to action in the holiday period and MV will be hoping Chris Ward has maintained his good from over the break.
Captain Andy Quigley and coach Richard Phillips will be looking for the team to regain their cohesive performance level from early in the season and to put in a huge performance to start 2019 and keep on the heels of the teams ahead of them in the table.
Widnes are leading the division currently just ahead of West Park and Oldham (who they play this weekend) in a good competition at the top. Liverpool St Helens are above Moor and both MV and Heaton Moor really need a win to stay in touch as LSH will fancy their chances of a win at bottom of the table Tyldesley.
MV are calling on their supporters to get on the touchline this Saturday (bar open at 1.00pm for pre-match refreshments) and cheer the team on in this first game of 2019
