The Trojans Academy team faced Sidcup in Round 1 of the National Cup.
The forwards dominated in the scrum and line-outs against a sizeable Sidcup pack winning territory and two early penalties one of which Tom KO converted from 40 yards out.
A counter attack and quick passing move from the backs saw Eddie J beat two Sidcup players before scoring the first try of the afternoon which Tom KO converted.
Trojans went into half time 10 – 0 but with the prospect of playing uphill and into the wind in the second half.
An energised Sidcup came started the second half well pushing deep into the Trojans half however Trojans strong defence and speed at the break down kept them at bay. A forward’s move from saw David M cross the line to score Trojans first try of the second half which Tom KO converted taking the score to 17-0.
Shortly afterwards Trojans lost skipper JC with an injury.
Trojans kept pressing forward and were rewarded with a try when Isaac P scored with Tom KO converting to make it 24-0.
Sidcup came back at Trojans and scored their first try with a forwards move despite strong and determined defence to take the score to 24-5.
Sidcup took the momentum and were pressing forward with Trojans camped in their own half. Sidcup won a line out which was stolen by Trojans on their own 22 and the ball was passed through the forwards to the backs with Josh G passing to Harry C 30 metres out who scored in the corner; 29-5.
Trojans won the restart and moved forward again with Josh G scoring under the posts from 20 metres out and converting; 36-5. Sidcup still kept pressing forward but the Trojans defence was determined not to allow them another score and worked hard to keep them out.
In the final minutes Trojans decided to run from deep in their own half with Harry C and Tom KO working well to exchange a number of passes to release Will O who crashed over to make it a 41-5.
