Trojans Academy in 2nd Round of National Cup

Trojans Academy looked to move back to winning ways following the previous weeks result.

Trojans opened the scoring early in the game with a scrum proving a good platform to then pass along the line with Will O scoring in the corner, 5-0.
Soon after Josh G crossed under the posts following a break from the Trojans half , he duly converted ,12-0.

Trojans continued to press Richmond sensing an opportunity to increase their lead however the Richmond defence held firm. Wesley C broke from outside the 22 and powered his way across the line to score under the posts with JG converting to make it 19-0. Trojans kept pressing forward with Harry J scoring a try sprinting in from 25 meters out to score under the posts with JG converting;26-0. Just before half time Wesley C scored again , Josh G converted 33-0. One final attack from Richmond saw them cross the Trojans line and convert a deserved try ,33-7.

Trojans went into half time 33-7 up.

The second half saw a different Richmond who attacked and ran the ball from deep pressurising Trojans. The Trojans defence held firm repelling Richmond. A move from the halfway line passing through the backs saw Ben S release Sam W to score in the corner to take the score to 38-7 .Richmond still kept pushing forward pinning Trojans in their half however a line out led to Joe J sprinting away to score under the posts with JG converting to take the score to 45-7.

There was still time for one final try from Trojans with Tom N dancing away from the chasing Richmond defenders to score in the corner, 50-7.

It was a good all round performance from Trojans but there were a number of areas to improve on in the coming weeks.Richmond pressed hard with the score not reflecting their performance and contribution to the game.
