Bonus point win

Trojans kicked off, USP started to run the ball out but a dropped ball was picked up by Dave Linton, fed to Joby Kochanowski who run through the remains of the USP defence feeding Neal Haworth who ran the ball in, all within the first minute. Toogi Long converted. Trojans created a number of attacks one of which was only stopped on the line. USP came back into the attack and on the quarter hour kicked a penalty. After some scrappy play in the centre of the pitch Trojans gained possession, spread the ball out and full-back Kochanowski sliced through the defence to score an unconverted try. USP then began to get back into the game and were heading for a push-over try but scrum-half Haworth was first to the ball. USP kept up the pressure and right on half time gained a penalty which reduced their deficit to 6 – 12.
The second half started with Trojans on top but some sloppy handling prevented any scoring advantage until on twelve minutes Kochanowski dashed through for his second try. Soon after some more loose passing by Trojans allowed USP to get to the Trojans 22 which resulted in scoring a penalty. Trojans backs were now showing their skills and on twenty minutes Ralph Keeble was on the end of some great running and passing to score near the posts to allow Long an easy conversion. From the kick-off USP failed to kick ten and from the ensuing scrum Trojans backs again scythed through the US defence to allow Jake Bailey to score. USP came back strongly and, on the half hour, gained a goal. As the game closed out second tries were scored by Bailey and Keeble interspersed by a USP try to give Trojans the 39 - 21 bonus point win.
