Trojans had an improbable but well deserved away win against third in the table Old Cranleighans, albeit in the closest of matches. It didn’t start well as OCs scored a goal within the first minute with OCs gathering the Trojans kick-off, passing the ball to their winger who chipped over the defence to run around and touch down. The rest of the half saw a great battle for supremacy with both defences holding firm but Trojans did gain two penalties through Matt Evenhand to make the half time score 7-6
Although OCs scored a try in the early stages of the second half Trojans generally got on top with a superb display of running rugby but the OC.s defence stood firm until the 35th minute. Trojans attacked down the wing and would certainly have scored in the corner but an OC infringement resulted in a penalty try giving Evenhand a much easier conversion to win the game.
