One that got away

Trojans were disappointed to come away from London with nothing to show from a tense and frenetic game in very wet conditions and in which they seemed to have most of the play but suffered from a number of injuries, particularly in the front row which disrupted play.

Trojans had the best of possession and position in the first half but couldn’t get over the line except, for one time, when an apparent good touch down was ruled a double movement. Old Georgians rarely got into the Trojans twenty-two but when they did, on twenty minutes, they scored a penalty to make the half-time score 3 – 0.

Trojans attacked from the start of the second half but an Old Georgians defensive kick was fumbled by Trojans on the half way line and Old Georgians were able to secure the ball and run it wide to score in the corner with an excellent long range conversion. Trojans maintained pressure in the Old Georgians half but a push into the Trojans half on the quarter hour resulted in another score in the corner and another good conversion. From the kick-off, Old Georgians fumbled the ball and Trojans flanker, George Goff, hacked on and won the race to the touchdown for an easy conversion for winger Ben Rose.
