Disability Policy

Policy
Troon Thistle YFC fully supports the principle of equal opportunities and opposes all form of unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of disability. No current member or membership applicant shall receive less favourable treatment because of disability. It is in the interest of the club and its members to ensure that all available talent and skills are considered when opportunities to join/contribute to the club arise.
Troon Thistle YFC is committed to maintaining and managing a diverse membership.

Purpose
To ensure that Troon Thistle YFC complies with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and to ensure that disabled people falling within the definition of the Act are treated equally and fairly.
To ensure that Troon Thistle YFC recruits and retain the best people for the club
Scope
The Disability Discrimination Policy covers all members and applicants. This also covers members who become disabled during their membership.

Access
Troon Thistle YFC is committed to ensuring that disabled members have the best possible access to the goods and services provided by the Club.
The Club recognises that not all facilities may be fully accessible to disabled members and that, in certain circumstances, a substantial capital investment would be required to rectify this anomaly.
The club will, whenever possible, seek to minimise any disadvantage. The club will, in full consultation with Capability Scotland, continue to strive to improve access to all facilities for our disabled members.

The club endorses the SYFA’s policies on Disability.
