TT2007, Burns Festival

Nice sunny start to the day and the heat was hot, hot, hot and so were the nighty red army from Troon.
Our normally first game of a tournament is met with tired players but this time the boys were ready to go and gave in some opinions the best game of the day.
GAME 1 - CAMBUSNETHAN TALBOT
Cambusnethan were controversially awarded a free kick outside the box and from this secured a 0-1 advantage. TT2007 kept their heads and with a through ball from Declan Baird, Matthew Hughes buried the ball to make it 1-1. Cambusnethan cam back and scored for 1-2. before half time Liam MacIver put Ryan McKee clear of the defenders and Ryan buried the ball from an angle beyond the goalkeeper to take us into the rest 2-2. Second half and TT2007 came out fighting as they were growing in strength and William Davies crossed from the right for Matthew Hughes to grab his second, 3-2. the rest of the second half was a very close game and in the dying minutes Cambusnethan got a goal back 3-3. Kieran Spurling started to get under the opposition skin with his fast tackles, but the punches started to fly, during this melly the referee stopped the game and added a couple of minutes to the game, Declan Baird made the most of the extra time and broke through the defence riding three tackles before going in front of the goal and putting the ball away with the last kick of the game to give us a close fought win at 4-3. 3 points secured.
GAME 2 - BRIDGE OF WEIR
Having heard that BoW had beaten Coylton 10-0 we thought we were in for a hard game. Quite a contrast when we ran out 12-0 winners. with goals from; Matthew Hughes x4, Sammy Kyle x3, Declan Baird x2, Logan Roberts, Kieran Spurling and George McClure. This game also secured a Clean Sheet Bonus for Zack Batchelor who made some good saves to keep the goals out and with some good defending the Clean Sheet Bonus also goes to the defenders; Hadley Duncan, George McClure, Donny Rorison, Arran Robertson, Liam MacIver and James Ferguson. 6 points
GAME 3 - COYLTON FC
As we have played Coylton on many occasions we knew how they played, so we rested a few of the starters from the first two games. With a different starting line up TT2007 proved to the coaches that we are a strong team all over the pitch. The referee ran our the score as 21-0 but I only had 19 goal scorers sent t me so we will go with the 19-0 score with goals from; Sammy Kyle x4, William Davies x3, Declan Baird x2, Lucas McKenzie x2, George McClure x2, Logan Roberts, Kieran Spurling, Liam MacIver, Matthew Clark, Matthew Hughes, Donny Rorison. Once again a clean sheet bonus to Zack Batchelor who had nothing to do the entire game and the defenders who made Zack's job very easy, Hadley Duncan, George McClure, Donny Rorison, Arran Robertson, Liam MacIver and James Ferguson.

With all three group games played and won we stand at the top of our group with 9 points, 3 goals against and 35 goals for.
Sunday would see TT2007 take on Tass in the Semi Final, but with overnight heavy rain and a forecast of further heavy rain and thunder storm s for the day in Ayr, the organisers postponed the days festival with safety reasons to players the uppermost reason which we agree on as the game is not bigger than the players well being.

With the group games concluded and no further games to play, the Player of the Match award went to Declan Baird for the strength he shew in running forward and taking on the defenders in the first game and the solid performances shown in the next two.
