A very hard game with decisions being thwarted from parents, coaches and players. The one thing that stood out for me was the team spirit, it was by far 100% better than Manchester, WELL DONE TO EVERY PLAYER TODAY.
The goal keeping was very good today, Archie Allan played well and the second goal was never his fault. The second half saw Zack Batchelor come on and his control of the defenders and running the ball away from danger was good until a collision which saw Zack injured he was keeping goal well, Archie came back on and carried on from where Zack had left off with both keepers having a good day between the sticks.
The passing was spot on when Kieran Spurling came back on after a much deserved roasting from his dad, his first touch and play pass were strong and direct, Will Davies put in a great left wing performance until he took a knock the nose. Declan Baird showed great body strength and passing was clinical in the lead up to Logan's goal. Logan Roberts proved why he is the team captain with an outstanding performance in midfield. Ryan McKee gave an outstanding performance with an assisted corner which Sammy Kyle ran into the box to give a sublime finish. George McClure, Hadley Duncan and Liam MacIver stood firm in defence, the second goal by Ardrossan was however the only time the defenders stood back and allowed the opposition to play in front of them. The subs who came on played their part and the outstanding never give up approach from Joshua Easton was paramount in the goal line clearance late on in the second half. The team celebrations for this clearance alone was the defining moment to the coaches and parents that they are at last returning to playing for each other rather than them selves.
To add some bad vibes to a great team performance, Archie Alan has decided to leave TT2007 and from all the players, coaches and officials we wish Archie well with his decision to take up rugby instead of carrying on with his football. A very talented goalkeeper who will be missed by all his team mates.
Well done to the entire playing team today.
