With Sadness

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the sudden unexpected death of club member Brian Dowling. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Brian started playing for Trowbridge in the 1960s and played in the first team and was also captain of the 2nd team. After his playing days ended he became a permanent fixture at Green Lane running the line and was well known for his dry sense of humour on and off the pitch.

His legacy at the rugby club will live on as five of his grandchildren Samuel, James, Levi, Hannah and Jayah continue to play rugby for Trowbridge and his youngest granddaughter Sophie is a keen supporter of sister Hannah in TRFC Girls Colts team.

Brian's funeral will be held at St. James Church on Friday 30th August 2019 at 11:30am, followed by a burial at The Down Cemetery and then a wake at Trowbridge Rugby Club.
