There was a positive opening to the game for Truro when a purposeful start was rewarded with a goal in the fourth minute when Niall Thompson delivered an inviting cross which was seized upon by the in-form Rocky Neal for his fifth goal in six games.
Falling a goal behind appeared to bring our hosts to life and they were back on level terms with 20 minutes on the clock when a free-kick from Dayle Grubb found the net.
Boosted by the goal, the home side turned the scoreline on its head when they took the lead on 35 minutes as Jamie Chamberlain seized upon some defensive hesitation to guide the ball home.
Worse was to follow early in the second period as more poor defensive play allowed Gethyn Hill to make it 3-1.
The two-goal deficit gave The White Tigers a mountain to climb but we were able to reduce the arrears towards the end when substitute, Chris Todd, headed home a high cross into the area only for Weston to add a fourth goal late on as Grubb scored from another free-kick.
It meant that we began the New Year on the wrong end of a 4-2 reverse.
