It was the visitors, with five away wins from six in the League already this term, who started with confidence and posed a number of questions early on.
Headers from Nicke Kabamba and then Christian Jolley both went close before Hampton & Richmond eventually broke the deadlock in the 24th minute when some sloppy defensive play allowed Kabamba to sweep home.
There was little for the home faithful to cheer during the opening period. The only serious opportunity coming when Louis Rooney linked up with Ryan Brett who was denied by the visitors’ ‘keeper.
Right at the end of the first half the visitors managed to double their advantage as an inviting cross from the right found Jamal Lowe who confidently rounded Tom McHale before guiding the ball home.
The White Tigers came out with a bit more purpose at the start of the second period but were hit with a sucker-punch on 55 minutes when Hampton & Richmond added a third when a neat move ended with Brendan Kiernan finding the net from close range.
It all but confirmed victory for our lively opponents, however, Truro City kept plugging away and Niall Thompson went close, whilst there were a couple of penalty appeals waved away.
In the end, though, it was another home defeat for Lee Hodges’ side.
