It was a positive start from Lee Hodges’ side who came out of the blocks with real purpose and our endeavours were rewarded with a penalty in the 13th minute which Tyler Harvey tucked home.
Some determined play out wide by Stewart Yetton, who was back in a Truro shirt, saw him link-up with Harvey who dragged his effort just wide before some more pressure on the visitors saw them scramble an teasing corner clear.
It was The White Tigers who were asking all of the questions and we deservedly doubled our advantage with just over five minutes of the opening period remaining when Harvey chipped home for his second of the evening.
The second half started in much the same vein as the first half with Truro asking most of the questions and we were unlucky not to further extend our lead following a series of corners.
Two-goal hero Harvey was forced to hobble out of the action on 72 minutes as Rocky Neal took his place but he can be satisfied with a high-energy performance.
The visitors never really looked like finding a way back into the game and they almost conceded a third when, from yet another flag-kick, Arran Pugh’s towering header flew just over from close range.
Then some quick feet from substitute Neal saw him avoid a couple of challenges and as a shooting opportunity opened up in front of him, he lifted the ball over the crossbar.
It was to be the last real action of the game as The White Tigers got back into winning ways with three important points and our first clean sheet since November. All in all it was a job well done and now we move on to our third home game of the week on Saturday.
