Entertaining draw for The White Tigers...

THE WHITE Tigers played out a 2-2 draw at Welling United in what was an entertaining and hard-fought encounter in a chilly Kent.
It was the home side who had the first opening early on when a corner found its way over to Parkinson who side-footed just wide.
The White Tigers soon started to get into our stride and see more of the ball, although genuine chances were few and far between during the opening exchanges until the 19th minute when an inviting ball into the danger zone from Jebb caused problems as Parkinson deflected the ball past Tom McHale to open the scoring for the home side.
The goal came somewhat against the run of play, but we managed to get ourselves back on level terms with 25 minutes on the clock when the ball was cleared as far as Ben Harding who picked out Cody Cooke and he made no mistake to equalise and in doing so take his tally for the season into double figures.
As the home side looked to hit, back McHale did well to thwart Goldberg, who was getting increasingly involved in the action as his side ended the half strongly, however it remained at 1-1 going into the break.
The home side had the ball in the net early in the second half but Goldberg’s effort was ruled out for offside.
Within seconds The White Tigers were in front when some neat link-up play between Aaron Lamont and Cooke saw the latter thread through Tyler Harvey and he stayed cool to guide the ball home into the far corner to make it 2-1.
In the wake of the goal, some hesitation in defence almost let in our hosts but we managed to survive to protect our lead.
The home side equalised on 63 minutes when a free-kick in a promising position was curled home by Jebb to make it 2-2.
With all to play for there were good chances at either end in quick succession as The White Tigers rattled the woodwork before the home side went down the other end as Driver went close.
It was a keenly-contested encounter with both teams going for the winner and giving their all as it ended with honours even.

WHITE TIGERS: McHale, Palfrey (Thompson 85), Hartridge, Palmer, Gerring, Richards, Riley-Lowe, Lamont (Keats 83), Harvey, Cooke, Harding. Subs not used: Yetton, Copp, Neal.
