THE WHITE Tigers got their first point on the board this season with a 1-1 draw at Weston super Mare on what proved to be a dramatic night as manager, Lee Hodges, and his assistant, Chris Todd, both tendered their resignations ahead of kick-off.
It was the home side who went close early on, whilst our first chance saw Niall Thompson do well out wide before linking up well with Tyler Harvey who curled an effort just wide.
The opening period ebbed and flowed but clear-cut chances were at a premium for either side and it was little surprise that the first half ended goalless.
There didn’t seem to be the same tempo to the game in the early exchanges of the second half.
Things came to life on the hour when a free-kick from Ed Palmer left the ‘keeper grasping thin air as the ball flew into the top corner to give us the lead.
It meant that the home side had to come at us and that is exactly what they did to level matters within five minutes when Jacob Cane found the net with a close range header after a corner was only half-cleared.
The home side looked the most likely as the clock ticked down with Corey Harvey having to be alert to keep them at bay as we held on to claim our first point of the season in what proved to be the last game with Lee Hodges and Chris Todd at the helm.
