Tynedale grounds survive weekend deluge

Monday 12th August 2019 (8.00am)
Thankfully the Tynedale Rugby Club grounds remain unscathed after several days of heavy rain which have resulted in flooding both locally and throughout the region.

The levels of the River Tyne at Corbridge peaked at 9.15pm on Saturday and 4.15am on Monday when levels were recorded as 3.65m and 2.95m respectively.
(When the club was flooded in January 2005 levels were recorded at 5.14m while the December 2015 flood followed the highest level ever recorded of 5.8m)
Current river levels can be viewed on the GOV.UK website.

The Tynedale grounds are currently largely free of standing water although it's fair to say that the pitches will "take a stud".

The Club's thoughts are with all those individuals and businesses who have not been so fortunate.
