(Report from The Rugby Player)
STOUR signed off their home campaign with a severely embarrassing heavy defeat against a rampant Tynedale side who ran the ball at every opportunity.
Tynedale set the tempo right from the start when scrum half Matt Outson scampered over on the blindside to score within two minutes of the kick-off.
Inside centre Ashley Smith then slotted over a touchline conversion to enforce Tynedale's early command but Stour soon struck back when scrum half Ben Tibbetts chased a clever kick ahead to score in the corner.
Tynedale restored their advantage at the end of the first quarter when outside centre Jack Harrison capitalised on a Stour handling error to score an unconverted try and put his side 12-5 in front.
Full back James Spencer increased the lead when capitalising on an errant Stour line-out throw to score by the posts for Smith to convert.
Stour cut the deficit to 19-12 just before half time when inside centre James Otutaha took crash ball from a line-out to charge over with fly half Luke White converting.
Tries continued to flow after the break, Tynedale fly half Dan Taylor sending Harrison over for his second try which Smith duly converted before flanker Nigel Mukarati smashed his way over for replacement Chris Scott to convert as Stour clawed the score back to 26-19.
Tynedale then started to take charge, replacement Louis Frankland forcing his way over on 57 minutes before winger Aedan Moloney made it 40-19 after racing clear on the overlap, the accurate Smith converting both tries.
Stour responded with what seemed little more than a consolation try with five minutes remaining as No.8 Ciaran Moore broke from the base of a scrum to score.
But Tynedale reasserted their authority in the closing stages as another of their replacements Jack Outson scored an interception try on 77 minutes before Smith stormed over to score by the posts with the last move of the match.
