On Saturday the Men’s 1s made the short journey to take on Team Bath Buccaneers in the EHL West Conference. Bristol had responded well to last weeks defeat against Olton with a good win in BUCS over Cardiff Met but the squad knew Bath would provide another big test.
Bristol played a tentative, safe and conservative first half which saw us create very little and concede a couple of soft goals. 2-0 Bath at half time.
In the second half Bristol showed much more intent and attacking threat. A couple of early chances were missed and Bath clinically took their first two chances of the second half to make the score 4-0. Bristol responded with a goal from Josh Godfrey (his first for the club) and a very well taken corner from Rufus McNaught-Barrington; 4-2. Unfortunately while Bristol continued to throw everything forwards Bath counter attacked well and added two more goals to their tally; 6-2 Bath at full time.
Bristol meet Bath again on Wednesday in BUCS and then look forward to taking on University of Birmingham on Friday night at Dingle... let’s fill the sidelines under the lights!
