The UBH suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday against a well drilled Bournemouth 2s outfit. In a closely fought contest, the UBH rued their profligacy in front of the the line. Bournemouth were clinical and closed out the match with a try in the final play.
Co-captain Tom Geddes described the game as a 'wake-up call' for the squad, with co-captain Tom Edwards praising some great attacking play, but lamenting some patchy defence. With 3 tough matches ahead of them in the group stages of the NAMS in November, the boys can learn a lot from this match and be pleased with a strong performance against a University second team. UBRFC 2s next week will provide another important platform to prepare for the NAMS.
