The Twos travelled to Titwood on Saturday for the top of the table clash with a weakened side due to injuries and work commitments.
Uddy found themselves in the field first on a hot and sunny day. Apart from Dusty and Bawa , the bowling was untidy with lots of wides and short deliveries. There were also a few dropped catches which didnt help matters. Having to find 5 bowlers was proving difficult for Andy against a strong Dale outfit. Dale had progressed to 120 for 2 after 25 overs. The introduction of Fergus changed things however . He bowled a nice length and turned the ball. He was given good support in the field with some excellent catches held by Nyer, who took 2 excellent catches. David and Allan Macleod also held onto some tough catches. In the end Dale ended on 265 for 9. Bawa and Dusty bowled their 20 over for 45 runs combined and Fergus was the pick of the pick of the bowling with 5 for 64 of his 12 overs.

Allan opened the batting with Ricky and the two set about setting a solid foundation . Allan was particularly fluent until he was unfortunately run out for a run a ball 32. Dusty entered at number 3 and turned back the years to play some majestic shots through the covers. The score had progressed to 100 for 1 after 22 overs and both batsmen were well set. Ricky however was cleaned up for 31 and was shortly followed by Dusty for 30. The top 3 all getting starts but not going on. There then followed a bit of a collapse with some needless run outs and the Uddy innings eventually ended on 170.

The twos hence go second in the table but will aim to increase the pressure on Dale when they play Prestwick at Home on Saturday.
