Uddingston lose again to Stenhousemuir

Stenhousemuir beat Uddingston in the 15th round of Western Premiership One action at The Tryst by 128 runs.

Winning the toss, the home team decided to bat first. Peter Hamilton was first to be dismissed by the two Wilmott brothers - Ben catching Hamilton off Thomas's bowling with the score on 5. However, the game changed thanks to a partnership of 216 between Yaseen Valli (95) and Baddar Eskahiel (120). It was Rohail Johan-zeb who eventually broke the partnership - as Rajaran Kamaraj took the catch, but Eskahiel powered on to score a century. Ross Lyons also took a wicket for the Villagers, and Thomas Wilmott also contributed another.

Stenhousemuir eventually closed on 265/4, but due to several rain showers, the game had been reduced to 48 overs a side. The DLS calculation then added eight runs (since they had to face less overs than expected) which meant that Uddingston were requested to chase 274.

The Villagers began with Keerat Singh and Abdul Sabri. Sabri was the first to fall for 27, bowled by Oli Townsend for the first of his four wickets). Townsend also took two other catches in the top order - Amaan Ramzan (27) and Harmanjit Singh (18). When Fergus Clarke was out for 13, Uddingston were 107/5. Cameron Grant then contributed four wickets, and when Johanzeb fell to Townsend, Uddingston were 145 all out, 128 runs short.
