Uddingston beat Dumfries by two wickets in the 16th round of Western Premiership One matches, thanks mostly to Ross Lyons contributions with bat and ball.
Winning the toss, the Nunholm men batted first. At 40/1 in the 14th over, Lyons came in to bowl, and he reduced Dumfries to 65/6, having taken 5/16 in his spell. Ben Plowman steadied the ship with 34, and Dumfries were eventually all out for 145.
In reply, Uddingston started with 22 from Amaan Ramzan, but were reduced to 71/5, thanks to three wickets for Alan Davidson. However, when Ross Lyons came in, to join Ben Wilmott, a partnership of 42 was formed. After Ben Wilmott was out, Lyons powered on to contribute 41 runs in a tense game. It was Thomas Wilmott who hit the winning runs to ensure a two wicket win for the Villagers.
