Tunnocks Uddingston secured their first league win of the season by beating Langside by 69 runs at Bothwell Castle Policies.
The visitors won the toss and put the Villagers into bat. Zaighun Ahmad held the top order together, scoring 29 runs from 53 balls. However, wickets fell steadily at the other end and when he was out, Uddingston were 76/5. However, Ross Lyons (37) along with first Anthony Thorp (22), then Amir Gul (18) add a further 90 to bring Uddingston back to 166/6. A further mini collapse at the end added only eight runs as Uddingston finished 174 all out. Rouman Butt took four wickets, and Faisal Shah and Mohammad Ali took two each.
In reply, Langside scored 38 in the first eight overs before Thomas Wilmott took two quick wickets including captain Sameer Zia without scoring. Niall Alexander then saw to Muhammad Khan before Mujahid Khan and Asad Khan steadied the ship. Amir Gul and Ross Lyons then came onto bowl and proceeded to take the rest of the wickets. Gul would bowl eight maidens in his 4-15, and Lyons took 3-34 to leave Langside 105 all out. Uddingston winning by 69 runs.
