Uddingston beat Stirling County by seven wickets to gain their sixth consecutive win in round 11 of the WDCU Premiership.
The New Williamfield team won the toss and decided to bat first. Harry Booker was first to fall, caught by Thomas Wilmott off Niall Alexander's bowling with the score on 11. Captain Matthew Tweedie and Brendon McMullen then added 72 for the second wicket in 23 overs, before McMullen was caught by Fergus Clarke off Aamir Gul's bowling for 39. Ross Lyons then had Tweedie trapped leg before wicket for 39 with the score on 92, and this triggered a collapse with Gul taken three more wickets and Alexander one - Muhammad Awais, Harmanjit Singh and Lyons all taking catches. This brought Stirling to 103-7. Akram Shakoor and Paul Bielby added 34 before Shakoor edged a Zaighum Ahmad delivery to Bryan Clarke, and eventually Stirling closed on 144-8 after 50 overs.
In reply, Uddingston were in early trouble as both Ahmad and Singh were caught behind by Ashay Mulik off McMullen's bowling to leave them 18-2. Awais and Gul however, added 78 runs before Awais was dismissed for 56, caught by Christopher Morton off Booker's bowling. Gul and Fergus Clarke added a further 50 partnership, scoring 33 and 30 respectively. It was Clarke that finished the game with a reverse sweep for four, Uddingston winning by seven wickets.
