Vaughn Williams Named to NSCRO Rising Stars Team
NSCRO has over 6,500 active men's collegiate players and the DU Rugby scrum half recognized for play on a national level
DU Rugby would like to recognize Vaughn Williams’ significant accomplishment being named to the NSCRO Rising Stars team. He is the only freshman member of the rising stars team from the central region and has so far made an impressive reputation for himself throughout NSCRO.
Playing scrum half during his freshman year at DU, Vaughn made an immediate impact on the team and provided consistent, impeccable play on both sides of the ball. His performance in the fall fifteens season helped DU go 4-1 and his play in the spring sevens circuit was a major factor in DU's national championship run.
His leadership on the pitch and in the weight room is a valuable intangible that adds to his impressive repertoire. Along with on field work, Vaughn is also involved in the club’s administration, serving as the vice president throughout the second half of last year and into this year.
On being named to the Rising Stars team Vaughn is quoted in saying “Denver has been a good platform for my personal rugby growth, looking forward to what is to come.”
