Several members of our exec attended an 'I Heart Consent' Facilitator training session, which gives us the ability to run several of the workshops taking place over Freshers.

The 'I Heart Consent' is an NUS campaign which aims to:
- Use education to create safer and happier social/sexual environments.
- Combat rape culture by tackling the myths and defining the crimes themselves.
- Empower students to create a positive culture where consent is the norm, not an afterthought.

The conversational style of each workshop is designed to be interactive and engaging- with brainstorming and group work at the forefront. We all found this workshop extremely insightful, and was something which we deemed to be of very high importance - especially within the sporting community.

As we all know, sports clubs are surrounded by a certain amount of stigma and peer-pressure - we've all heard the odd joke here and there, or a questionable chant floating around the Copper Rooms. This problem is very real and directly affects us; even if we do not realise it!

Our aim is to hold a UWLHC & UWMHC 'I Heart Consent' workshop at the start of term - encouraging as many freshers and you lot (yes you too, old girls) to attend as possible.

It really is such an amazing campaign, which has the full support of the UWLHC!
