U13's defence was dominant throughout the game only conceding space out wide on a few occasions which Wanstead managed to convert into tries. Upminster were competitive at every breakdown, turning over Wanstead ball on may occasions, as well as protecting their own ball at the ruck. As always, Upminster passed the ball superbly, wearing down the opposition defence & creating space for the runners from deep. Scrum was much improved from previous weeks, especially in the second half when Upminster had a more stable scrum and managed to win the ball on Wansteads put in a couple of times.
The boys played with great team ethic, they organised & managed themselves with limited input from the coaches today. They refused to be brought down by the opposition resulting to name calling and off ball antics and let their rugby do the talking.
All boys should be very proud of themselves.
