USF Rugby Club Wins "The I 4 War" and is 6 - 0 for Spring 2020

USF Rugby (43) comes from behind to defeat UCF Rugby (24)

Exhibiting superior fitness, University of South Florida Rugby club overpowered UCF by scoring 19 points to 0 in the last 18 minutes to come away with a 43 (7 tries) to 24 (4 tries) WIN, and is now 6 - 0 for the Spring 2020 Spring season.

USF opened with a try to Jon Carlo Salani after 7 minutes of play. UCF responded with a converted try of their own. Both teams traded tries and with the score 17 - 12 in the last minute of the first half, UCF were awarded a Penalty Try, and USF a Yellow Card, ending the half with a scoreline of USF 17 - UCF 19.

Although playing 1 man down for the first 10 minutes of the second half, USF was able to hold UCF scoreless during that period. Both USF and UCF then traded tries and at the 62 minute mark, the score was 24-24.

Tight Head Prop, Sean Johnson celebrated his 21st birthday with a converted try which took the wind out of the UCF defence. Two quick tries, including a second to speedster Mike Burrel, and 2 Yellow Cards to UCF gave the WIN to USF 43 - 24

Following the First XV, our Development XV played a spirited match against a team made up from Krewe and Krewe U-19, with Man of the Match award going to Julian Del Hoya Tucci.
