The season as seen by Adam Dender (Prop, Lock, Wing)

What did I enjoy this season at Uxbridge?

This was my second season at the club. It started with some uncertainty as coaches Ron and John had left us for pastures new. I’d gotten quite close with both so wasn't sure with how I'd feel towards our new coach, Nick.

It turned out he was a great coach with fun games and different styles of fitness training pre-season that caught everyone off guard. As the season started I joined the front row once again but this time as a full time prop taking me back to my school years.

I enjoyed this season more as I've now gotten to know our team a lot better and have played a lot more games this season. I even had Man of the Match twice… one for Uxbridge and one helping Northolt! really boosting my morale and confidence. May I also add getting a compliment off Ron and John on their return to my improved performances has also boosted by confidence (and ego)!

This season has also seen me also play in positions where I wouldn't have seen myself. Playing wing, replacement hooker and back to second row.

The only things I'm saddened by this season was not getting to play against Ealing at home, coach Nick and ex-captain Jake having to leave the club. However both Ron & John have returned, and Ieuan have stood up to lead this great team.

A great ending cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic was winning against Ruislip which funny enough was also my first match against when I started in season one.

I can't wait to get back to training and back on the pitch with the team in season three and seeing how much better we do!
