I have a heavy heart in learning of the passing of yet another of the Vigo family - Frank Eagles. Frank played for the club, usually as a number 8, back in the early 90's,if I remember correctly. He was International judo player and was a very hard customer, as you might imagine, although he was a real sport on the pitch, never backing down but never instigating the rough stuff. In fact, he was quite disdainful of the nasty goings on. He was a gentle giant off the pitch and we offer our deepest condolences to Lesley , son Alex and daughter Jess, his family and friends
Lesley wanted it to be known that ''He loved playing for Vigo and I remember many weekends 'written off' after heavy games on a Saturday afternoon and evenings in the clubhouse!. He was only 72 and enjoying retirement, it has been a great shock and sadness to all his family and friends''.
Steve Dunn said '' Frank was a close friend and best man at my wedding. He was larger than life and always great fun to be with. On the rugby field he used his judo skills to good effect and you were always glad he was on your team."
