I'm Tony Whitehead. I was educated at Duke of Yorks School, Dover, later attended University of Greenwich. I have played for Stocksbridge RFC, Central Queensland University RFC, Central Queensland District, Gravesend RFC, and, of course, Vigo RFC.
Last year we had a great season but I think once the prospect of promotion seemed lost, the increased physicality and fitness caught up with us. I think over the last few years they’ve set up a great foundation for the team and there is no reason we should be thinking of anything but promotion next year. I’d like to do a bit more work on rebuilding a club ethos rather than three teams among the players. We have some great talent all through the teams and if we want to move on as a club we need 2 teams regularly training at least. I’d like to try and do a bit more with the youth section as they are the future if the club. Very honoured to be elected and will do my best to bring this great club through to the next level.
